“In 2009, we spent so much time putting together our retrospective of the last decade (click here for our “Best of the 2000s†series) that we almost forgot about all the memorable things that happened this year. Well, 2010 ain’t here yet, so we’re spending the last week looking back at all our favorite stuff, including albums, movies, video games, girls, sports moments, books, style trends, and websites. Young Chris was spotted in Harlem rockin’ the Play Cloths “Breezer” short sleeve button up shirt which is available now in the online shop. Be on the look out for Play Cloths Fall Delivery ‘09. Also be sure to check out Young Chris’s latest mixtape “Network”.
Throughout all the verbal sparring and subliminal jabs thrown in hip hop, some people prove that it’s all in the spirit of competition and at the end of the day rappers can all coexist in a peaceful “kumbaya” state and still break bread at the dinner table. Hov rocks Play Cloths, not just showing respect but because its dope.
Soulja Boy has been toning town his flamboyant looks considerably, kudos to whoever is styling him and got him out of wearing Tee-Skirts and whiteout on his sunglasses. With this reconstruction of his image is seems like he’s chosen Play Cloths to help him get his swag on.
Here he is wearing the Play Cloths summer V-Neck on the July 15th episode of MTV’s “It’s on with Alexa Chung”.
As with any family, our older siblings are an influence to our public portrayal, our look and our sound. Billionaire Boys Club has always been an aspirational point to what we come with and BBC’s solid season 9 lookbook shows us the growth of a brand that got us into the game in the first place.
Thanks to the investigative skills of Play Cloths commenter Vla3d, we have a pic of 50 rocking the Play Cloths Summer V-Neck in his upcoming movie “Caught in the Crossfire”. It looks like for a stretch of his acting chop, 50 will be playing a guy with a gun pointed at him instead of his usual role, a guy pointing a gun at someone else. I smell Oscars!
You don’t have to be a fan, but you gotta respect him. Soulja boy takes to the streets, Lambo cruising in the vid for his new song (Which coincidentally is a display of some very questionable rapping) “I got Mojo” wearing the black “You’re It” Jacket. I would have hoped some of that Clipse rap skill would rub off with the purchase of a Play Cloths item. I should know better tho, i have all 3 seasons and my rap career is still on milk carton status. Album dropping Two thousand never.
Curren$y deserves a few dubious distinctions. First, he was a Play Cloths Supporter from early on, wearing PC in this XXL photoshoot as he was noted as one XXL’s Freshman 10. The other distinction because i have never seen someone get as high as him as frequently as him and still retain use of their motor functions.
With these notables in mind, and couple with the fact that this kid can rap, it may behoove you to check out his new website featuring his independent debut on Amalgam Digital.
Controlling the minds of America’s youth for about a decade, if BET’s 106 and Park has done nothing it has perfected the art of getting kids to scream on command.
Hosts Terrence J and Rocsi may come off as arrogant and cocky on screen, but trust that their bitter banter doesn’t spill into their off screen antics. They’re actually cool folks and from this picture, its pretty apparent that they know how to dress.
