Skateboard P’s mug gets immortalized in a few new pieces showing this month in London.

“Paris and Shanghai-based Chinese creative Yi Zhou and Pharrell Williams reconvene for an upcoming project which follows-up on their 2009 video, The Ear. Titled “The Greatness”, the follow-up utilizes complex 3D modeling software to re-create the face of Pharrell Williams onto a vase inspired by surrealist masks and Greek-style urns. The films premise follows the progression and eventual degradation of the vase to represent death. Music for the short film was created by Oscar-winning composer, Ennio Morricone who lends a special sound of mystery. The film, “The Greatness” will be unveiled at Yi Zhou’s upcoming exhibition titled “I AM YOUR SIMULACRUM” which is a retrospective show dating back to 2006. It will take place at 20 Hoxton Square Projects from September 2nd through September 11th.” - HB

“Apparently David Choe is the most baddest of all dudes or something because he’s always hanging out with naked women and terrifyingly brutish looking men. Did you know this? Just four days ago he released these photos he took of Danny Trejo. Choe is known on the whole for his undeniably masterful paintings, but he’s also an intense photographer. And he’s got a book out right now to promote, and Trejo has a movie coming out (“Machete”), so they called each-other up on their dial-tone phones and decided to have a play date.” - WFDJ

Starting in October, Kaws will be hosting a new gallery show in HK.
