“It’s about reacting to what you see, hopefully without preconception. You can find pictures anywhere. It’s simply a matter of noticing things and organizing them. You just have to care about what’s around you and have a concern with humanity and the human comedy.” – Elliott Erwitt

Shepard Fairey produced this print of the “His Holiness” in honor of The Dalai Lama’s 75th birthday and Tibetan Independence Day. All proceeds from the print will go to Tibet foundations. (via WFDJ)

Says Shepard: “I’ve always had great admiration for His Holiness and his non-violent approach to the plight of the Tibetan people. When I was approached with the opportunity to work with this beautiful image as a sanctioned source and create a work that evokes the Dalai Lama’s presence as I feel it, I was thrilled. I hope His Holiness remains a presence of compassion in the world for many birthdays to come!”

This is pretty creepy but honestly this really is what Mr.Burns would like as a real person. Excellent.

There have been many attempts at untooning characters from The Simpsons, most of them are just exceedingly creepy and all-together unrealistic, but Martin Beyer crafted this portrait of  a Mr. Burns bust, which seems to capture a happy medium between realism and the maniacal eccentrics of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant’s own Montgomery Burns. -via Gearfuse
